Geography
Southern Perth. Tangney includes a number of suburbs on the southern shore of the Swan River and Canning River. Tangney covers most of Melville council area, the southern half of Canning council area, and a smaller part of Gosnells council. Suburbs include Alfred Cove, Attadale, Melville, Applecross, Mount Pleasant, Winthrop, Leeming, Willetton, Canning Vale, Rossmoyne and Shelley.

The Liberal Party polled very well in Tangney, with over 48% of the vote, which was 8.9% above the statewide Liberal vote.
The ALP polled below average, as did most minor parties. The Greens polled roughly in line with their statewide result.
Booth breakdown
Booths have been divided into four areas. Those polling places in the Melville council area were divided into North-West and West. Those polling places in Canning and Gosnells council areas were divided into East and South-East.
The Liberal Party won the most votes in all areas, and by quite large margins. The Liberal Party outpolled the ALP by a 38% margin in the north-west of Tangney. The Liberal Party’s vote ranged from 42.6% in the east to 55% in the north-west.
The ALP’s vote ranged from 17% in the north-west to 28% in the south-east. The Greens vote ranged from 6% in the south-east to 11.9% in the north-west.
