Geography
Eastern Perth. Forrestfield mostly lies at the western end of Kalamunda local government area, along with small parts of the Mundaring and Swan council areas. The seat covers the suburbs of Forrestfield, Gooseberry Hill, Helena Valley, High Wycombe, Maida Vale, Wattle Grove and parts of Orange Grove and Maddington.
Redistribution
Forrestfield shifted north, losing Kenwick to Cannington and Thornlie and gaining Helena Valley from Midland and Gooseberry Hill from Kalamunda. These changes cut the Labor margin from 25.5% to 22.6%.
History
Forrestfield was a new seat created at the 2008 election. The seat was created as a notional Labor seat, and was won by ALP candidate Andrew Waddell, despite a 4.3% swing to the Liberal Party.
In 2013, Waddell was defeated by Liberal candidate Nathan Morton, with a 2.3% swing.
Morton only held the seat for one term, losing in 2017 to Labor’s Stephen Price. Price was re-elected in 2021.

Assessment
While Labor holds Forrestfield by a large margin, that was in the context of an extremely strong election result. If there is a swing back towards parity, Forrestfield would be one of the closest seats that would decide the majority.
