ALP 9.2%
Incumbent MP
Leanne Linard, since 2015.
Geography
Northern parts of the City of Brisbane. Nudgee covers the Brisbane suburbs of Nundah, Boondall, Northgate, Banyo and Nudgee, and parts of Geebung, Wavell Heights and Zillmere.
Redistribution
Nudgee lost its western fringe, with parts of Geebung and Zillmere going to Aspley and the remainder of Chermside and parts of Wavell Heights going to Stafford. Nudgee then gained a new area from Clayfield, including Nundah and the eastern half of Wavell Heights. These changes cut the Labor margin from 11.2% to 8.6%.
History
The seat of Nudgee has existed since 1960, and has been won by the Labor Party at every election except 2012.
Jack Melloy first won the seat in 1960. He served as deputy leader of the ALP from 1974 to 1976, and retired in 1977.
Melloy was succeeded by Ken Vaughan in 1977. He served as a minister in the Goss Labor government from 1989 to 1992, and retired from Nudgee in 1995.
Neil Roberts won Nudgee in 1995. He was re-elected in 1998, 2001, 2004, 2006 and 2009, and served as a minister in the Labor government from 2009 to 2012.
Neil Roberts retired at the 2012 election. Nudgee was won by LNP candidate Jason Woodforth, beating Labor candidate Leanne Linard with a 17.4% swing.
Linard returned in 2015, unseating Jason Woodforth with a 14.4% swing.

This would seem beyond the LNP but how the train debacle plays out along seats in this train line (Stafford, Sandgate) will be interesting.
Gotta be careful with the lnp candidate for nudgee. You put a dissenting comment on Facebook and she censors you. If it’s not deleting comments she doesn’t like its blocking anyone but her strongest supporters.
@Eli. She at least allows comments to be made on posts, and I would hasten to guess that Debbie only blocks people with fake profiles. Ms Palaczszuk and Ms. Trad allow comments, but not Leanne, could it be that she only wants to portray a positive image, even though she does not do anything for the area.
I have no problem commenting on her post. Maybe it’s just you.
