Victoria 2014 – Legislative Council still counting
Ben Raue -

More than two weeks after the Victorian state election, all 88 Legislative Assembly seats have been finalised, but there are a number of undecided Legislative Council seats.
Last Thursday, William Bowe at Poll Bludger produced a good summary, drawing on Antony Green's calculator and Geeklections...
Fisher update – could there be another win from third?
All votes have now been counted for last weekend's Fisher by-election for the state seat in Adelaide's southern suburbs.
Earlier this week I wrote about how, after Labor won a solid lead on election night, a strong Liberal lead in the declaration votes brought the race close to...
Fisher – Liberal takes the lead?
While we were all distracted by Prahran yesterday afternoon, quite strange things were happening in the count for the South Australian state seat of Fisher following Saturday's by-election.
We all expected Labor to win the Fisher by-election after an error on Sunday revealed that Labor...
Prahran – what happened?
The Victorian Greens appear to have won a second seat in the Legislative Assembly after the distribution of preferences in Prahran last night. Prahran was the last seat to be decided in the lower house (although quite a lot of the races in the...
Prahran – Greens overtake Labor
Update: We now have widespread reports that the Greens have won the distribution of preferences by a 128-vote margin over sitting Liberal MP Clem Newton-Brown.
I think it's reasonable to assume there will need to be a recount, in particular to confirm that the Greens...
Prahran – could the Greens win from third?
Prahran has been the stand-out seat in terms of late counting for the Victorian state election. While every other seat has now been decided, Prahran remains too close to call - with three different candidates still in the running.
At first glance, it appears that...
Fisher by-election – results wrap
Update: Sunday's recheck did indeed discover an error at the Aberfoyle Park booth which means the booth was won by Labor with 54%, not the Liberal Party with 54%. This puts the Labor two-party-preferred vote over 52%, and pretty much locks down the result.
Original post: Yesterday's...

Fisher by-election – election day
Voters are going to the polls today in the by-election for the southern Adelaide seat of Fisher in the South Australian parliament. The by-election was triggered by the death of independent MP Bob Such.
I'll be back with live coverage of the results from 6pm Adelaide...
VIC 2014 – results update
The last week has been painfully slow as we wait for the final figures from the Victorian state election.
At the moment, there are a small number of seats still in contention. Labor holds slim leads in Bentleigh and Frankston, but this is probably enough...
