ALP 13.4%
Incumbent MP
Tim Richardson, since 2014.
Geography
Wendouree covers the western suburbs of Ballarat, including Wendouree, Sebastopol, Brown Hill, Delacombe, Alfredton, Braeside, Keysborough and Redan. The seat lies entirely within the City of Ballarat.
Redistribution
Mordialloc gained Braeside and Keysborough from the abolished seat of Keysborough, while losing Moorabbin Airport and the remainder of Mentone to Clarinda. These changes increased the Labor margin from 12.9% to 13.4%.
History
Mordialloc was created in 1992. It was won by the Liberal Party at its first three elections and has been held by the ALP since 2002.
Mordialloc was won in 1992 by the Liberal Party’s Geoff Leigh. Leigh was first elected in 1982 in a by-election in the seat of Malvern, which had been vacated by recently defeated Liberal Premier Lindsay Thompson following the 1982 election.
Leigh moved to Mordialloc in 1992, and held the seat until his defeat in 2002.
Janice Munt won Mordialloc for the ALP in 2002. Munt was re-elected in 2006. In 2010, Munt was defeated by Liberal candidate Lorraine Wreford. Wreford held the seat for one term, losing in 2014 to Labor’s Tim Richardson. Richardson was re-elected in 2018.

Assessment
Mordialloc is not as safe as the margin suggests. A swing of almost 11% to Labor in 2018 pushed the seat out of the marginal seat category, but the seat is probably more vulnerable than other seats with a 13% margin.

Martin Pakula retiring I’m sure has avoided some preselection headaches.
(Wasn’t sure where to post this given the evaporation of Keysborough!)
@Nicholas I think posting that here is the most appropriate place as a large part of the Keysborough electorate (and Keysborough itself) has moved into this electorate.
As for Martin Pakula i believe he already had a spot in the upper house for south-east metropolitan guaranteed.
