Sandy Landers, since 2019. Sandy Landers replaced Amanda Cooper as councillor for Bracken Ridge in October 2019.
Geography
Outer northern Brisbane. Bracken Ridge covers the suburbs of Bald Hills, Bracken Ridge, Carseldine and Fitzgibbon. Its north-western border follows the Brisbane City Council boundary.
Redistribution
Bracken Ridge experienced extremely minor changes to its eastern and southern boundaries.
History
Bracken Ridge has been held by the Liberal (National) Party since at least 1997, when it was won by Carol Cashman.
Cashman was re-elected in 2000 and 2004, the last time with a 19.2% margin.
Cashman resigned in 2007, and Amanda Cooper was appointed to the casual vacancy. Cooper was defending a 14% margin after the redistribution, which was cut slightly to 13.9%.
In 2012, Cooper won re-election with a 7.7% swing. Cooper was elected to a third full term in 2016 despite an 11% swing to Labor.
Cooper retired in October 2019 to run for the overlapping state electorate of Aspley at the 2020 election, and was replaced by LNP councillor Sandy Landers.

Assessment
Bracken Ridge on paper looks like a safe LNP ward, and will likely remain so, but the retirement of the previous councillor may shake things up a bit.

Booth breakdown
Booths in Bracken Ridge have been split into three groups, divided between three main suburbs: Aspley in the south, Bald Hills in the north-west and Bracken Ridge in the north-east.
The LNP won a majority of the two-party-preferred vote on both ballots in all three areas, with the vote lowest in Bald Hills and highest in Aspley. The council vote ranged from 56% to 61%, while the mayoral two-party-preferred vote ranged from 53% to 60%.
