Polls have now closed. I won’t be trying to do a Tally Room liveblog tonight – you can find me at the Guardian liveblog.
I also won’t be tweeting – if I want to do my own little updates I’ll do it at Mastodon – so maybe now’s a good time to sign up? My account is @benraue@aus.social.
I’ll be back tomorrow with more analysis and I’m aiming to publish a podcast on Tuesday.
I have a question, what is happening with the count? I need an explanation as to why Polwarth and Croydon were called as Labor gains on the ABC a little while ago. But now they are listed as Liberal retains with a 3-4% turnover on the TPP in total. Why is this? Somebody please explain it to me. It makes no sense, should be still too close to call.
Is it a full preference count or is it a huge amount of prepolls that were added to the dump? I believe Croydon was retracted back to too close. But it makes no sense how it has huge jumps in the vote in so little time when over two thirds of the vote are in, in many of these seats.
Presumably you heard this already, but just in case, Polwarth was actually skewed by a data entry error. Once that was corrected Labor had less than had been shown.
