The volume of comments has exploded on this blog in recent times. In July over 1000 comments were posted – this is only the second time I’ve received more than 1000 legitimate comments in a month.
With this I have experienced more occasions where I’ve had to make judgement calls about deleting or editing comments, and I suspect we’ll see more with the federal election still to come.
To help commenters ensure their comments don’t fall foul of the moderator, I have prepared a brief comments policy.
Of course, I maintain the right to exercise discretion when it comes to moderating discussions, but I hope this will help commenters find their way, and play nice.
Comments are not permitted on the comments policy, but I will leave the comment thread open on this post if any readers wish to suggest any points I might have missed.
Credit goes to Poll Bludger and Larvatus Prodeo‘s comments policies, which I used for inspiration.
