About

This is a blog by Ben Raue. I have a particular interest in politics, and particularly elections, in Australia and other English-speaking countries.

This website is supported by the generous contribution of patrons via Patreon.

I have written election analysis for The Guardian, Crikey.com.au and other publications, and appeared on radio, including Radio National, various ABC radio stations, 2SER and FBI. I am interested in, and available for, opportunities to provide election analysis for those elections I am following, providing an Australian perspective on elections across the world.

I have been providing expert election analysis for elections on ABC Radio since 2023, and prior to that I had filled a similar role for Guardian election night live blogs from 2016 until 2022.

I’m a former member of the Greens, and in that role I was a candidate for a number of elections in the Campbelltown area from 2004 to 2008, and worked for the Greens in the Senate and on election campaigns. I have not been a Greens member since 2016.
